Dear Familia,
HOLY COW ITS NOV!! can you believe it? (side note, speaking of cows..
cows is ´´vaca´´´not ´´baca´´ i have issues with the B´s and V´s here..
how embarrassing!) haha....any how, time has just flown by! this week
was awesome! we had exchanges on friday!
that was an adventure! it poured that day and i walked through a raging
river in the street. my feet loved that! so we rode 2 collectivos out
to san lorenzo. muy chuchi! we had a nice humid day, and carved mangos
for halloween.. didnt turn out too bad! :) then the next morning we
walked through the rain to the main road to flag down a collectivo... so
we finally get one to stop, and its like sardines in a can! no joke! so
for the first 5 min riding the collectivo, i was outside on the step
holding 2 bags and holding on for dear life!!! no joke! you remember how
they drive right?? yeah, add buckets of rain to that! im sure i was a
sight to behold!! :) once i got in i spent the next hour squished
between people holding onto a pole in a humid sweat filled bus.. awesome
right!? it was a small adventure! haha :) its a miracle that people
dont die here from germs! so we got 10 new investigators! one is a guy
named oscar! so we met him 2 weeks ago and he said he didnt have time
so... ´´otra dia´´ we hear that alot. so we came back. when we got near
his house, he was outside, watering grass, no shirt, and was smoking. we
didnt have a girl with us so we just thought oh... maybe not. lets just
move on. but i kept looking back. we stopped and hermana arguetta asked
if maybe we should say hi.. or no. i said we need to go back. even just
so he knows we didnt forget about him. so we turn back, he threw away
his cigarette, finished watering, and told us to wait. he brought out
some chairs, put on a shirt, and sat down. we just started talking and
BAM!! he started telling us how he has been desperately seeking a change
in his life and wants to come closer to god. the spirit was so strong
and i was able to talk in spanish, spanish that he oculd understand,
(which never happens here) and he accepted a baptismal date for the end
of this month! he's awesome! we hope all goes as planned. angels really
do prepare the hearts of men! so my challenge to you is never doubt if
you should share the gospel with someone. because chances are, they are
desperately seeking the thing you have. a light on a hill can't be hid!
also... dont forget about less active or inactive members. love them,
help them, friendship them. they are lost sheep as well and you never
know when one spirtual thought, or heartfelt letter or word will change
their hearts and be exactly what they need to come back. I love this
work! i love this gospel! i love it here! I love you all so much!
Always keep the faith!
love, Hermana McDougal
