Letter # 9

dear familia, so december rolls in and summer has officially begun. its literally the surface of the sun!!! you step outside and immediately begin to sweat and for me and my albino self... i start to feel my skin frying!!  sun screen helps only for the first 30 min.  so i now look like a camileon ( i have no idea how to spell that)  but basically i have like 5 different tan lines of various colors... they include white, red, tan, tanish red and so on. its awesome! haha :)   i've also realized, that before the mission i spoke 1 language... now i speak none!! ;)  i can't speak english and i can't speak spanish. im trapped in this spanglish zone where my brain can't function!! a little girl asked me to tell her the invitation to english class in english... and for the life of me i couldn't do it! i used half spanish and the english i used sounded ridiculous!  pretty much like the papers the little kids write in moms class! :) lol.... oh well! ;)  this week was really good. we finally taught oscar the word of wisdom and the law of chastity.. idk if that's spelled right because i only know ley de castidad. :) anyhow, the law of chastity was classic because of the hermana we brought with us!! it was hilarious!!! :) you should of seen oscars face! i would give details but idk if children are reading this!!! haha :) so funny!! we hope he can overcome his addictions and be baptized the 13th. we also taught carmen! we are teaching her english right, by reading the book of mormon, but this last time she just asked us all kinds of spiritual questions and about testimonies and i was able to teach the whole lesson and say everything i needed to in spanish perfectly with out much help.  the holy ghost is amazing! we set a date for baptism by the 13th. it was such a spiritual experience. we also shared the new mormon message video, "he is the gift" it is such a powerful video. the first 4 times me and hermana argueta watched it we cried! if you guys haven't watched it, DO IT!!! it started on the 28th.christmas.mormon.org... i think. anyways, watch it, share it on face book, or any other means with members, non members, less actives, EVERYONE!! really let it touch your heart! i love the work and i love the gospel! the best way to accept the "gift" heavenly father has given us is by sharing it with everyone! especially those we love! i hope all is well with everyone! i love you all so much!! always keep the faith!! always love, Hermana McDougal
